The Fifth Congress of Slavic Geographers and Ethnographers was held in Belgrade from 23 to 25 October 2024, organized by the “Jovan Cvijić” Geographical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA) and the “Vuk Karadžić” Cultural Center from Loznica.

Academician Milovan Pecelj, member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of Srpska and Professor Emeritus of the University of Belgrade, delivered remarks at the opening.
Dr. Branko Banović, Director of the Ethnographic Institute of SASA, welcomed attendees on behalf of ethnographers.
The Fifth Congress of Slavic Geographers and Ethnographers was held in Belgrade from 23 to 25 October 2024, organized by the “Jovan Cvijić” Geographical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA) and the “Vuk Karadžić” Cultural Center from Loznica. Participants from 17 countries presented their research papers, with a total of 176 scholars from 47 institutions. This gathering provided a unique opportunity to become acquainted with the latest findings across various geographical disciplines. The congress revived the tradition after an 88-year hiatus, bringing together scientists from numerous Slavic countries as well as esteemed guests from other international institutions.
